Open a new transparent image
of 800 x 500 px
Set your foregroundcolor to gradient
- Linear Style - Angle 0 - Repeats 1
- Invert checked.
Fill with the gradient.
Effects - Plugins - Stylize -
Extrude :

Preset Shapes tool -
shape-10 :
Draw the shape like this ( start at
the left)
Layers - Convert to raster layer

Open tube

Edit Copy
Magic Wand Tool - Tolerance 0 -
click in the left block of the shape
in your image
Selections - Modify - Contract - 2
Edit - Paste as new layer - Move
above the selection:
Selections - Invert
Hit the delete key of your keyboard
Selections - Select None

Click on the shapes layer
Magic Wand Tool - Click in the big
rectangle
Paste the tube again as new layer
Move above the selection:
Selections - Invert
Hit the delete key of your keyboard

Click on the top layer
Layers - Merge - Merge Down - Repeat
