This translation is written with PSP 2019 ULTIMATE by Corel, if you work with older versions some things might be different but the result will be the same.

Plugins:

  • Simple - 4 Way Average
  • AAA Frames - Foto Frame
  • Alien Skin - Eye Candy 5 - Impact - Brushed Metal and Perspective Shadow
  • XE Extras - Elemental

 

Preparations:

  • Copy the Selection to the Selections folder of PSP
  • Place the Gradient into the Gradients folder of PSP
  • Place the Mask into the Masks folder of PSP
  • Place the Picture Frame into The Picture Frames folder of PSP
  • Open all other files in PSP, duplicate and minimize to Tray. Close the originals.  NOTE: If you are using different colors you might need to colorize

From PSP 14 and higher there is no option for Image - Mirror & Image -  Flip There is a new option but this does not give the same result except when the tube/image covers the whole image from side to side There is an easy way to add the old Mirror and Flip options to the Image Menu I have written a tutorial you can find it HERE. From PSP 17 the option is back

 

 

Colors:

Note: When working with your own colors, play with the Blend Mode and/or Opacity at your own discretion

  • Set your Foregroundcolor to #404040

  • Set your Backgroundcolor to #ffffff

Color Palette: Set your Foregroundcolor to Foreground/Background Gradient (Corel_06_029) - Style: Sunburst

 

 

The tutorial:

Open a new transparent image of 800 x 600 px

Fill the Layer with the Gradient 

Effects - Simple - 4 Way Average

Adjust - Blur - Radial Blur

Layers - New Raster Layer (Raster2)

Fill the Layer with the Backgroundcolor 

Layers - Load/Save - Load Mask From Disk - "masknoisette7"

Layers - Merge - Merge Group

Layers - Duplicate

Image - Mirror - Mirror Vertical

Layers - Merge - Merge Down

Effects - Edge Effects - Enhance

Effects 3D Effects - Chisel

Selections - Select All

Maximize "calguisportrait29119" from tray

Click in the Bottom Layer

Edit - Copy

On your work image:  Edit - Paste - Paste Into Selection

Selections - Select None

Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow   Vertical: 4   Horizontal: 4   Opacity: 60   Blur: 30   Color: #000000

Window - Duplicate  (or Shift+D)

Minimize this copy for now

On your main work image: Lower the Opacity to 55

Materials Palette: Change the Foreground Gradient back to Color - #000000

Layers - New Raster Layer (Raster2)

Selections - Load/Save - Load Selection From Disk - "selectnoisette123"

Fill the Selection with the Foregroundcolor

Selections - Modify - Contract - 2px

Edit - Cut (or hit Delete on your keyboard)

Keep Selected

Materials Palette:  Change the Foregroundcolor to Gradient Fading Background- (Corel_06_025.grd)- Style: Linear

Fill the Selection with the Gradient

Selections Select None

Effects - Image Effects - Seamless Tiling - Default settings

Layers - Duplicate

Effects - Image Effects - Offset

Layer Palette: Change the Blend Mode of this Layer to Soft Light and lower the Opacity to 32

Layers - Merge - Merge All - Flatten

Effects - Plugins - AAA Frames - Foto Frame

Layers - Duplicate

Layer Palette: Close this Layer and activate the Background Layer

Effects - Plugins - Simple - Zoom Out And Flip

Adjust - Blur - Radial Blur

Materials Palette: Change the Foreground Gradient back to Color - #000000

Layers - New Raster Layer (Raster1)

Fill the Layer with the Foregroundcolor  

Layer Palette:  Change the Blend Mode of this Layer to Overlay

Click on the Top Layer and open it

Image - Resize - 80% - Resize All Layers - not checked

Image - Mirror - Mirror Horizontal

Pick Tool   Move this Layer up to the Top edge of your work like this:( Or: Oblects - Align - Top)

Fill the Selection with the Foregroundcolor 

Selections - Select None

Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow   Vertical: 11   Horizontal: -14   Opacity: 78   Blur: 24   Color: #000000

Click on the Bottom Layer

Edit - Copy

You can close this tube now

On your main work image:  Edit - Paste - Paste As New Layer

Image - Resize - 50% - Resize All Layers - not checked

Move to the Bottom Right like this:

Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow   Vertical: 7   Horizontal: Minus 8   Opacity: 80   Blur: 15.94   Color: #000000

Click on the Bottom Layer

Edit - Copy

On your work image: Edit - Paste - Paste As New layer

Image - Resize - 80% - Resize All Layers - not checked

Move to the Left edge of your work like this:

Effects - Plugins - Alien Skin - Eye Candy 5 - Impact - Perspective Shadow - Preset - Reflect Behind

Maximize the image you made in step#4

Layers - Merge - Merge All Flatten

Image - Picture Frame

Select Corel_09_17 from the drop down menu

Use these settings:

Layers - Merge - Merge All Flatten

Image - Resize - 15% - Resie All Layers - checked

Edit - Copy

On your main work image: Edit - Paste - Paste As New Layer

Move over the small frame like this:

Your Layer Palette should look like this now:

Layers - Merge - Merge All Flatten

Image - Add Borders - Symmetric checked - 30px - #C0C0C0 

Magic Wand:

Click in the last border

Effects - 3D Effects - Cut Out

Selections - Select None

Effects - Plugins - XE Extras - Elemental

Click on Customize

Optional: Image - Resize - Width 900 Pixels - Resize all Layers checked

Add your name or watermark, save as JPG file and you're done!
