Materials download  

Plugins:

  • AP Lines - Silverlining - Dotty Grid.

  • Simple - Half Wrap.

  • Filters Unlimited 2.0 - Color Effects -Bi Color (fore-/background color)

  •  Graphics Plus - Cross Shadow

 

Preparations:

  • Copy the selection file to the Selections folder of PSP

  • PSP 9  Users (or earlier versions): If you do not have the 20/20 mask needed for this tutorial you can download it HERE - Copy the 20/20 mask file to the mask folder of PSP

  • Open the Brush in PSP and export as custom brush ( File - Export - Custom Brush) NOTE: In some versions  you may need to resize the brush first (smaller) to get it exported.

  • In PSP 14 & 15 there is no option for Image - Mirror & Image -  Flip. There is a new option but this does not give the same result except when the tube/image covers the whole image from side to side. Therefore I have created a solution: Download two PSP scripts HERE. Copy the Scripts to the Scripts Restricted Folder of PSP. You can use it as a script in PSP 14 & 15 as a replacement for the Image/Mirror/Flip options.

 

Used Colors

  • Foregroundcolor: #bbb5c0

  • Backgroundcolor: #3a3134

Note: When working with your own colors, play with the Blend Mode and/or Opacity at your own discretion

 

This translation is written with PSP15 but can also be made with other PSP versions.

01.

Open a new transparent image of 750 x 550 px

Set your Foregroundcolor to Foreground/Background Gradient (Corel_06_029) - Style: Linear - Angle 0  - Repeats 0 - Invert not checked

Fill your image with the Gradient

Layers - New Raster Layer.

Selections - Select All.

Open Texture "Astrid texture 90" - Edit - Copy

On your work image  - Edit - Paste Into Selection

Selections - Select None

Layer Palette - Set the Layer Opacity of this layer to 80% .

Set your Foregroundcolor back to color again


 

02.

Layers - New Raster Layer.

Selections - Load/Save Selection - Load Selection From Disk - "Astrid selectie 90"

Effects  3D Effects - DropShadow - 0 -  0 -  100 - 100 - #000000 .

Selections - Select None.

Effects - Plugins - AP Lines - Silverlining - Dotty Grid.

Effects - Image Effects - Seamless Tiling 

 

03.

Layers - New Raster Layer.

Selection Tool - Freehand Selection

Make a selection like this:

Fill with the Backgroundcolor

Selections - Select None.

Effects - Plugins - Simple - Half Wrap - Default

Layers - Load/Save Mask - Load Mask from Disk - 20/20

Layers - Duplicate

Layers - Merge - Merge Group

Layer Palette - Set the Blend Mode of this layer to "Multiply"

Layers - Duplicate

Effects - Distortion Effects - Polar Coordinates

! PSP 14 & 15: Make sure you have opened the Scripts Toolbar in PSP.

 ! PSP 14 & 15:   PSP 14 & 15: Script Tool Bar - Select the Image - Flip script you have downloaded  - Click on: Run Selected Script

Previous  PSP versions: Image - Flip

Layer Palette - Set the Blend Mode of this layer to "Sceen"

Effects - Edge Effects - Enhance

Layers - Arrange - Move Down

It looks like this now:

 

 

05.

Layer Palette - Click on the top layer

Open Tube "Alies 841-woman-13042012" - Edit - Copy

On your work image  - Edit  - Paste As New Layer

Effects - Plugins - Filters Unlimited 2.0 - Color Effects - Bi Color (fore-/background color).

Layer Palette - Set the Blend Mode of this layer to "Multiply"

 

06.

Layers - New Raster Layer.

Selections - Select All.

Fill with the Foregroundcolor

Selections - Modify - Contract - 50 px

Hit the Delete key on your keyboard

Selections - Select None

Layer Palette - Set the Layer Opacity of this layer to 20%.

Effects - Edge Effects - Enhance.

 

07.

Layers - New Raster Layer.

Paint Brush Tool   - "Astrid penseel 90" - Size: 286 - Step: 32 - Density: 100 - Rotation: 0 - Opacity: 100 - Blend Mode: Normal - Continuous checked - Wet paint Unchecked
 

Stamp once with your Foregroundcolor in the Bottom Left Corner like this:

 

08.

Layers - Duplicate

! PSP 14 & 15:   PSP 14 & 15: Script Tool Bar - Select the Image - Flip script you have downloaded  - Click on: Run Selected Script

Previous  PSP versions - Image - Mirror

 ! PSP 14 & 15:   PSP 14 & 15: Script Tool Bar - Select the Image - Flip script you have downloaded  - Click on: Run Selected Script

Previous  PSP versions: Image - Flip

Layer Palette - Set the Blend Mode of this layer to "Sceen"

Open Wordart TAstrid Tekst 90" - Edit - Copy

On your work image  - Edit  - Paste As New Layer

Layer Palette - Set the Blend Mode of this layer to "Sceen"

Move to the top like this:

Layers - Arrange - Move Down - Repeat 3 times

Layer Palette - Click on the top layer

Go back to Tube "Alies 841-woman-13042012" - Edit - Copy

On your work image  - Edit  - Paste As New Layer

Move to the right like this:

Effects  3D Effects - DropShadow - 0 -  0 -  100 - 100 - #000000

Open Wordart TAstrid Tekst 90a" - Edit - Copy

On your work image  - Edit  - Paste As New Layer

Move down like this:

Image - Add Borders - Symmetric checked  - 1 px - Foregroundcolor

Image - Add Borders - Symmetric checked  - 10 px - Backgroundcolor

Image - Add Borders - Symmetric checked  - 1 px - Foregroundcolor

Image - Add Borders - Symmetric checked  - 30 px - Backgroundcolor

 

13.

Magic Wand Tool  - Mode: Shift/Add - Tolerance 0 - Contiguous checked - Anti Alias Checked -  Click in the last border

Effects - Plugins  - Graphics Plus - Cross Shadow - Default settings

Selections - Select None

Image - Add Borders - Symmetric checked  - 1 px - Foregroundcolor

 

14.

Add your name or watermark, save as JPG file and you're done!
