  • Preparation
    Foreground color = White and background color = #503850 bg,
    Foreground material: Prepare a foreground-background gradient with these settings:

    This is our palette to start the lesson with:
    (WHITE/PURPLE)

    Feel free to change the opacity and blend mode from the layers if you work with different colors. You can colorize if necessary

    LESSON
    PART I

  1. First of all we will make our Christmas tree - it will look like:

    File - New - New Image:
    Color: take a dark color, you need contrast to work easy
    I took the background color: #503850

  2. Activate the file: @nn_261111_triangle_christmas-tree_tdstudio.pspimage
    Edit - Copy
    Edit - Paste as new layer - Rename this layer TRIANGLE
    (This triangle will help us to build our Christmas tree)
  3. Layers - New Raster layer - rename this layer BRUSHES
  4. Activate Brush tool and select: @nn_201111_brushes_001_Christmas_tdstudio

    Change size into 135
    Stamp 2 two times on the bottom line, one against the other (make sure you stamp on the layer brushes):

  5. Change rotation into 75 and size +/- 125:

    Stamp see print screen (all on the same layer "brushes")

  6. Change rotation into 105 and Stamp on the other side:

  7. We will fill the inside now. Stamp the brush but change the rotation and the size regularly. Fill it as you like best
    (to make the rotation easy, put your mouse cursor in the little rotation box of the menu and when you see a vertical line you can scroll quickly with your mouse wheel)

  8. When finished, activate this file: @nn_261111_stronk_christmas-tree_tdstudio.pspimage
    Edit - Copy
  9. Edit - Paste as new layer
  10. Move this image down :

  11. Remove the layer with the triangle

  12. Make layer "Achtergrond" (background) invisible (by clicking on the little eye)
  13. Activate any other Layer
  14. Layers - Merge - Merge visible
    Open background again
  15. With top layer active , Layers - Duplicate
  16. Adjust - blur - Gaussian blur: Radius:12
  17. Layer palette: Decrease opacity towards 70% - 80%
  18. Remove bottom layer (background)
  19. Layers - Merge - Merge visible
  20. Minimize this Christmas tree for later use or export as picture tool, so you can use it in other creations

    INFO: you can make a star, first draw a star with the preset shape tool and fill it the same way we showed here:

  21. Swap Foreground color to gradient
